The Town of Yellow Grass has been paying off a loan for the water treatment plant upgrade. Your water bill included a $30 per month fee for this loan. Good news: We have paid off the loan 2 years early and saved some interest, and that fee will no longer be on your bill.
At the same time, we need to increase our rates. We have not increased monthly rates for quite a few years, so an increase is necessary. As with everything else, our costs have increased for the upkeep and operation of the water system.
Effective April 1, 2025:
- The $30 per month water treatment plant upgrade fee has been removed
- The minimum monthly water charge is $29.55 for the first 2000 gallons plus $1.50 per hundred gallons exceeding 2000 gallons (or 6000 gallons in a 3-month period)
- The sewer charge, which is a flat rate, is $31.45 per month
After the decrease and increase, the minimum bill is $183 for the 3-month period, which is down from $228.
